“What is Oregon Next Generation Companies?”

Oregon Next Generation Companies recognizes Oregon companies whom provide inspiring leadership, exemplify progressive management and employment practices, and are building a future-thinking company. The award highlights organizations that practice mindful and sustainable operations and forward-thinking strategy. Oregon Next Generation Companies rewards businesses that keep all three of their bottom lines in mind; profits, people, and the environment. They seek to reduce or eliminate negative impact on the global or local environment, community, society and economy.

“How are the winners determined?”

Gen Cubed has assembled a diverse committee from various industries and backgrounds that has nominated companies based on the stated criteria for the award. After nominations closed at the end of June, nominated companies received a survey to disseminate amongst their Oregon employees. Check out the list of 2010 nominees and stay tuned as we announce Oregon’s Top 10 Next Generation Companies!

Nomination criteria:

Must have been in operation for more than 5 years
Must be in Oregon (SW Washington companies are eligible as well)
Must be striving to create a multi-generational workplace
Have a minimum of 10 employees based in Oregon/ SW Washington

“Why Should Companies Participate?”

Many companies were lucky enough to have survived or landed on their feet in the tough economic crisis, however they’re not sure where they landed. The world is a different place, and the companies that survived are moving forward in a new way. Oregon Next Generation Companies are the innovative forward-thinking companies of the future. Often operating with a more entrepreneurial vision, these companies are where the fresh top talent wants to work. The direction they are moving in today is where the other companies wish they were.

All nominated and surveyed companies will enjoy recognition and the ability to tout their status as an Oregon Next Generation Company Nominee. They will receive an invitation to the event in the fall, (tentatively scheduled for October 13th 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) as well as access to the valuable survey information gathered from their employees. Top 10 and Top 20 winners will receive the above, as well as recognition in the media, a logo for promotional use and a custom web and email footer for use in recruiting and marketing. They will be recognized and honored at the Oregon Next Generation Companies Awards event October 13th.

Come celebrate with the Top 10 winners and nominees! The Oregon Next Generation Companies Awards event will be October 13th, 2010 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. hosted at Kell’s Irish Pub (112 SW 2nd Ave Portland, OR 97204). Details to follow, tickets to the event are available for purchase online or at the door.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available.

Sponsors will enjoy a variety of benefits including publicity and recognition as a sponsor of the Oregon Next Generation companies designation. Sponsorship does not secure a company’s place as a Next Generation Company, however sponsoring companies may still be nominated and surveyed and are eligible to win.
